HKIP’s discussion forum

Rules

1.  This site provides a venue for members of the HKIP to exchange views relating mainly to the town planning profession, the HKIP’s activities and other matters about development and environment in general.

2.  This Discussion Forum is for internal use only and is open to the members who have registered their user ids with the Institute.

3.  Participants can read messages posted to the Discussion Forum, post a reply to these messages or post another message to start a topic of their own. Submissions may be in English or Chinese.

4.  Members can log-in using either his/her usual username or even an anonymous user-id of his/her design for taking part in forums set up by others or starting new discussion topics. However, he/she should decide upon his/her first time registration whether to use the real name or an artificial anonymous user-id.  The user-id must not be the name of another member / person or trade name of a commercial business or organization without its consent.

Disclaimer

1.  Owing to the real-time nature of this Discussion Forum, the HKIP does not and will not review messages or confirm the validity of information posted except those posted by the HKIP. The HKIP will not actively monitor the contents of and is not responsible for the messages posted. The messages express the views of the author of the message, which are not the views of the HKIP.

2.  Participants of this Discussion Forum are solely responsible for the content of their messages and are prohibited from using this Discussion Forum to post any material that is knowingly false and/or defamatory, harassing, abusive, offensive, obscene, pornographic, profane, vulgar, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy or in violation of any law.  They should not post any copyrighted material unless they own the copyright personally or without doubt by the HKIP.

3.  The HKIP reserves the right to remove part or the whole of the articles, if these messages are deemed highly inappropriate, for reasons like the posting of pornographic, commercial advertising, off-topic, willfully misleading materials, personal attacks and use of vulgar language, or in contravention to the above mentioned prohibitions.

4.   The HKIP also reserves the right to reveal the identity of a participant (or whatever information the HKIP knows about the participant) in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any message posted by the said participant.
