Synopsis of the talk
"Parsons The New School for Design in New York City is developing a new approach to the design of cities. The approach emerges out of years of reflective on-the-ground practice, critical research on the state of the field, and experimental studio and seminar pedagogies. There are two main components to the approach: one is to focus on the invisible yet powerful structures that actually shape cities, and the second is to adopt a highly interdisciplinary and collaborative strategy. The presentation will describe this approach using case studies of actual projects and present how Parsons is helping shape a radically different group of urban practitioners. There will be time for comments and questions from the audience."
