Training Course on Statutory Planning Practices in Hong Kong 2016

Continuous professional development has long been one of the key focuses of the Institute, which offers different education and training activities being initiated to promote town planning and further professional knowledge of members.

Our planning system has experienced considerable changes over the past few years. In order to enable members to gain a broader understanding on current planning practices, the Institute is organizing training courses in April/May 2016 covering different areas of statutory planning work.

The training courses comprise discussion sessions to be conducted at the Institute by town planners with practical experience from the public and private sector. Arrangements of the training course are listed below, and the content of the training courses is attached for reference.


Duration: 16 April to 21 May 2016 (4 Saturday mornings)

  2. Statutory Planning and Development Control

  3. District Planning Practices - 1 (Speaker: Ms Johanna W.Y. CHENG, 7 May 2016)
  4. District Planning Practices – 2 (Speaker: Dr Owen L.F. YUE, 21 May 2016)


Time: 10:00 am – 12:30 pm

Venue: HKIP office, Unit No. 201, 2/F, Prosperity Millennia Plaza, 663 King's Road, North Point

(Quarry Bay MTR Station Exit C)


Language: The course will be conducted in English (supplemented with Chinese).



HKIP member $1,200 (4 courses) or $350 (per course),
Non-HKIP member $1,800 (4 courses) or $500 (per course)



Registration will be on a first-come-first-served basis. Only persons who have completed the registration form (attached below) together with fee payment (Cheque payable to: The Hong Kong Institute of Planners) would be considered.


Interested members are invited to return the completed form to the Institute on or before 1 April 2016 (Friday).


Priority will be given to members, both full and student members, of the Institute. Admission is at the sole discretion of the Institute. Successful applicants would be notified accordingly.
