Visit to Hong Kong Children’s Hospital (25 August, Sat)

Hong Kong Children’s Hospital is the first children hospital in the public healthcare system in Hong Kong.  It is located at the former South Apron of Kai Tak Airport, with site area of about 21,700m2 and a 285m long frontage abutting the future waterfront promenade of Kai Tak Development Area.  The total construction floor area of HKCH is about 165,000m2.

Construction works were commenced in August 2013 and it has been completed in 2017 for service commissioning by phases this year.  The overall design objective is to create a non-institutional, home-like, child-friendly, comfortable and cozy environment that provides the best clinical practice under a patient-centered approach, facilitates multi-disciplinary and cross-specialty collaboration, and allows efficient and flexible use of facilities and resources.
