Smart City, Technology and Me - Smart City Blueprint for Hong Kong (25 March 2019)

Smart City, Technology and Me

Few will dispute that technology has ingrained into the daily routines of everyone from children to adult, from work to leisure both wilfully or unconsciously.  Smart city perhaps is one of the most trendy term among professionals, organizations, public figures and politicians for the past years.  Technologies do not just affect our daily routines but will reshape many aspects of our cities in the years ahead.

As the professional charting the future, how smart city concepts and technologies interact with planners and town planning?  Will planners leverage on or merely be the bystanders as the wheel of technology advances?  On these and beyond, the Education and Training Committee will organise a seminar series (with 5 seminars from March to May 2019) for members to share the sights from government official, IT practitioner, technology consultant, researcher and planning professional under different perspectives from the broad smart city strategy to applying and utilising technologies related to town planning and our city.  Themes of the series will include:

Theme 1: Smart City Blueprint for Hong Kong (25 March, Monday)

Theme 2: Building Smarter Cities - Integrating FinTech with Town Planning (1 April, Monday)

Theme 3: Green and Greening in West Kowloon Culture District
