Technical Tour to ChangZhuTan

Changsha (長沙), Zhuzhou (株洲) and Xiangtan (湘潭) located in the Hunan (湖南) Province are cities with long history as important agricultural, transport and trading hubs in the Central part of China.  Since 2007, the three cities have officially become one of the major urbanisation growth poles under the National Policy of constructing the ChangZhuTan City Cluster (長株潭城市群).  It is aimed to develop the City Cluster as a “Two Oriented Society”  (兩型社會) to achieve resources conserving and environmental friendly urban development (資源節約型和環境友好型社會建設), with the background of regional disparities among the Eastern, Central and Western parts of China, and the adverse environmental impact resulted from extensive urbanisation.
