Panel Discussion 1 - Construction Sector

The Prospect of Hong Kong Land Use and Housing Development

Hong Kong 2030 : Planning Vision and Strategy was published in 2007 after seven years of consultations and amendments. Nearly half of the planning period has passed, and Hong Kong has been experiencing changes ranging from technological advancement, social and demographic structure, and citizens’ pursuance of quality living environment. Are the planning visions still in line with the expectations or actually behind the development pace? At the moment, what are the ambitions and visions of the construction industry towards Hong Kong 2030 : Planning Vision and Strategy?

How can we transform Hong Kong into a genuine livable city which is truly home to quality, green living environment under the guidance of sustainable development?
