Manager, Planning and Design - Urban Renewal Authority

 

The Urban Renewal Authority (“URA”) is tasked to undertake urban renewal in accordance with the provisions of the Urban Renewal Authority Ordinance and the Urban Renewal Strategy published by the Government.  The URA adopts a holistic approach to urban renewal with redevelopment and rehabilitation as its core businesses.

 

 

Manager, Planning and Design

(Ref. M(P&D))

 

Responsibilities:

  • To carry out in-depth urban design and district studies of assigned areas

  • To provide technical support to facilitate planning and urban design, formulation of planning implementation strategies

  • To assist in steering and management of consultant services relating to strategic study and preliminary project feasibility studies

  • To assist in the preparation of various planning submissions, monitoring of consultants’ performance, and progress of assigned projects through various stage of planning and design

 

Requirements

  • Degree holder in Planning or related/relevant discipline

  • Recognized planning qualifications i.e. HKIP, RTPI, CIP, PIA or RPP

  • Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification work experience

  • Experience in working on local and/or overseas area-wide planning/urban design projects would be an advantage

  • Good communication and presentational skills and hands-on experience in urban planning/design in Hong Kong

  • Basic knowledge of GIS preferred

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese
