Tourism Series - Sustainable Tourism

Sustainable tourism is defined by the United Nations as “tourism that takes full account of its current and future economic, social and environmental impacts, addressing the needs of visitors, the industry, the environment, and host communities”. In 2023, the global tourism industry flourishes as countries and regions began to uplift their travel restrictions. Here in Hong Kong, we are witnessing a strong bounce-back of the tourism sector in Q1-2023. Surely, many of us couldn’t wait to travel again, if not already had. In this issue, we encourage ourselves to become responsible travelers (on the demand-side), and will take a look at the concerted efforts on the supply-side of the tourism sector that promote various aspects of sustainable tourism in the post-COVID era. Please enjoy the videos!
