Planning Awards 2022

Introduction

The Hong Kong Institute of Planners Greater Bay Area Planning Awards aim to promote planning and development within the Area and strengthen interaction and collaboration with our mainland and Macau counterparts.  Through the delivery of Awards, we wish to honour outstanding projects that contribute significantly to the planning and development of the Area; strengthen collaborations across the Area; as well as facilitate knowledge exchange and encourage pursuit of excellence among various planning-related practitioners.

The competition was very well received in its inaugural year, with about 200 submissions covering a wide array of topics on urban renewal, new developments, greening and ecological restoration, ageing population, low-carbon and smart living, and transit-oriented developments.  A total of 21 submissions have been chosen for the Awards this year, which have adopted innovative approaches and concepts in tackling various challenges today, and may as well serve as models for similar endeavours in the Area.
