Signing of Memorandum of Understanding between HKIP and BIP

Signing of Memorandum of Understanding between the Hong Kong Institute of Planners and Bangladesh Institute of Planners

We are thrilled to share the wonderful news that the Hong Kong Institute of Planners (HKIP) and Bangladesh Institute of Planners (BIP) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 08 October 2026.

As HKIP’s 11th partnership with an international counterpart, this milestone is particularly meaningful to us. Looking back at our MoU journey – from our first signing with RTPI in 2020 – we have step by step built a network of 10 partners across the UK, Singapore, Australia, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia, Korea, Indonesia, the Philippines and India over the past 6 years. Each MoU has represented not just a document, but a relationship cultivated and a shared vision for our profession.

Through the continued efforts of the External Affairs Committee, HKIP has actively fostered professional exchange through a range of activities, including joint webinars with sister institutes, overseas study trips, and the HKIP International Planning Conference held in 2025. These initiatives have enriched our members’ professional horizons and strengthened Hong Kong’s connections with the global planning community.

The signing with BIP today represents both continuity and a further step in this ongoing journey. Through this new partnership, HKIP and BIP will explore opportunities for joint initiatives, mutual learning, professional development and exchange. By connecting planners across borders, the Institute looks forward to working with BIP in a spirit of shared commitment to create more liveable, sustainable and inclusive urban communities.

Stay tuned for upcoming events and opportunities!
