Topic: “Updates on the Planning and Development of Nusantara Capital City”
Nusantara, Indonesia’s future capital city, represents one of the country’s most ambitious national development agendas. Since the planning process began in 2019 and physical construction commenced in 2022, substantial progress has been achieved, particularly in the core area. Its development has been supported by integrated planning across multiple dimensions, including physical infrastructure, spatial structure, social development, and environmental management. In particular, spatial planning has been carried out at the macro, meso, and micro scales to ensure a coherent and implementable development framework. This topic will highlight the progress of planning undertaken for Nusantara and provide updates on the latest developments in its implementation and construction.
Mr. Anthony Luk
Deputy Director of Planning/Territorial, Planning Department, HKSAR Government
Topic: “The Northern Metropolis – A New Growth Engine Powering Hong Kong’s Future”
Spanning about 300 square kilometers near the city’s northern boundary, the Northern Metropolis (NM) is set to become Hong Kong’s next economic powerhouse and housing hub. Positioned as the key engine for future development, the NM will be one of the major sources of future land supply, integrating quality life, industry development, culture and leisure. With “industry-driven and infrastructure-led” approach as the core strategy for development, NM will be the forthcoming “international innovation and technology city” and will forge a significant platform for Hong Kong to integrate into the overall national development, driving Hong Kong towards a new era of sustainability, resilience, growth and boundless opportunities.
Successful applicants will be notified by email separately and Zoom link will be provided upon successful registration.
